目前市面上的进口萨克斯哨片大体分为5种，法国弯德林的红白蓝盒，以及rico家族的两种。哨片的选择对于萨克斯的吹响和吹好起着至关重要的作用。 弯德林的红盒和绿色的差不多，是演奏流行音乐常选的。 弯德林杰诺（白盒）哨片性价比很高而且也很好吹，适合演奏流行古典音乐 蓝盒的弯德林相比较其他两款稍微偏硬一些，但是是萨克斯吹奏起来音准最好的，同样适合古典音乐。 还有就是美国的rico黑胶哨片，这款哨片出来的音色同以上几款相比是比较亮的，主要演萨克斯流行音乐。 黄盒rico大都是学生考级用，性价比很高，比较适合学生群体，便宜且好吹容易上手。 整体来说，在萨克斯哨片选择上，从性价比来说，白盒弯德林杰诺和黄盒rico是差不多层次的，弯德林蓝盒的材质是最硬的，音准也是最好的，红色也是偏硬一些，红色的弯德林哨片和rico的黑胶哨片吹出来的感觉是差不多的，都是音色比较亮的。 哨片的材质和种类也会决定音色的好坏以及是否好吹易吹，所以即使是同一个品牌，同一个型号的哨片，也会多多少少有那么一两个吹起来的感觉不一样，因为它的材质是天然芦苇，切割的方法和部位不一样都会导致音色不一样，吹出来的萨克斯的感觉就不一样，还有一个关于哨片的小技巧就是新的哨片吹之前要在水里泡上10分钟以上 ，然后在拿出来吹就会很好吹了。有点基础的朋友可以随便选，初学者可以选择杰诺和黄盒的2号rico，弯德林的音准会比rico的要好，尤其是2.5的蓝盒在吹古典的时候非常棒，rico是比较偏软的，所以学生和初学者比较容易吹但是如果想追求高音的话，还是不要选rico,弯德林是最佳之选。

好多初学萨克斯甚至学萨克斯好久的人反应说吹出来的声音没有金属音质。那么，如何吹出金属音质呢？ 应该从自身找原因，主要分为三点，第一点，从嘴型上来说，嘴唇不要夹的太紧，更不要网上传言的那种“微笑唇”，嘴角应往里受力，嘴角也不要开，否则就会导致声音吹出来特别尖特别细。切忌吹萨克斯的时候做嘟嘟嘴，这会导致你的上牙无法压住笛头的上部，无法发出想要的那种声音，另外就是下嘴一定要包住下牙，具体包多少，根据你吹的曲子来看，吹古典时要多包一些，吹现代要少包一些，当然自己的把控力度看你吹出的声音而定。 第二点，从气息上来讲，吹的时候气息一定要沉下去，小肚子是往外顶的，气息一定要集中。第三点就是从手指上来说，手指来回收放一定要干净，不要太黏，不要故意粘带，要利落干脆。 还有就是从外部找原因，学习吹出金属音的首要一点就是要多听，学习歌曲里边的感觉，听着听着自己就会自成一派，感觉就出来了，一定要多听名人唱歌，学习强弱点还有低音高音的唱法，再者就是多去思考，吹萨克斯也要开动脑筋。第三点就是去模仿，模仿是最快最捷径的方式，可以先学表面，在深入的学习，模仿就像是在沙滩上走路，这个人走一步，你跟随他的脚步继续走，由浅至深，就会慢慢的刻印在你脑中，形成自己的曲风，时间长了也会成为大师。
